Have you heard about dryer balls? I hadn’t, I must admit I didn’t embark on this as a “green” project. I just enjoyed felting so much that I wanted to give needle felting a go too. When I started searching for tutorials on felt balls, I found a wealth of information about how popping a few wool balls in your dryer can drastically reduce drying time. I must confess even though I consider myself fairly green I am addicted to my clothes dryer. I am trying to soothe my conscience with the knowledge that the new house will have enough solar power to cover my addiction! For now making a little collection of these fuzzy little beauties might help and they are fun to make, so I’m giving it a go.

Very impressed! Such gorgeous colours your felt balls are too! Good tips for the tumble dryer.
ReplyDeleteSuch a good piece of information. I think we'll have to get solar panels once the old house sells.
ReplyDeleteGreat colours - how long did they take to make and how did you get them so perfectly round?
ReplyDeleteThey look fabulous! I love my dryer too I'm afraid but I try to use it only when I absolutely need to. K
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours, I'd be too excited to wait for drying too. xo m.

ReplyDeleteI've not heard that about balls in the dryer, I don't have one but my kids would love these to play with.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful!
ReplyDeletewell they look wonderful! I know your dilemma, sometimes when I'm dyeing stuff, or test dyeing it seems so tempting to pop it into the dryer. I guess I think we have to take these things in balance. We can't be totally perfect greenies. it's fabulous you're getting new solar panels for your house and well lets say your dryer is the thing you can't give up. I have that with my electric blanket- I know it's terrible, but I can't give it up. You get me ?
ReplyDelete( since moving I don't have a dryer, so I'm not tempted- it makes towels sooooooo much nicer the dryer)
hmmm...I can imagine it will be a lovely colors if flowers are what you going to make them into in the near future... Irene :)
