I’m still riding the wave of creativity from
last week. I’ve been scribbling more in the “sketch book of nothing” and have spent another blissful evening in the studio painting. I wouldn’t have thought it possible, but I’m even happier with this piece than I was with last weeks
“Freedom” painting.
So with out further ado let me unveil “Adrift”.
"Adrift"
oil on canvas
600 x 900mm
2010
$200
I can’t stop looking at it, it’ so calm and dreamy.
My creative space is my favourite place to be right now. With a glass of wine and some tunes on, its paradise. I so agree with
TinnieGirl, who recently said
“I feel so alive when I paint”. My hearts beating a little faster and there is a skip in my step; please let this feeling roll on and on!
Do you have any tips for staying on top of a creative wave? I’m sure all of the support and fabulous comments I have received from all of you lately have helped keep me here. Being an artist was a lonely path without much feedback in the past. But blogging is putting an end to those days for me. I am so grateful to have you all along for company and feedback on this creative journey.
Inspiration and support abounds among the ever growing band of creative spacers. So pop by
Kirsty’s and indulge in a little creative space surfing.
Wonderful blues...I can see why it makes you feel so relaxed and dreamy...me too!
ReplyDeleteGreat paintings! I love that they are coming from your little sketch book of nothing. Kootoyoo's My Creative Space is very inspiring and that's what keeps me going each week. And all those encouraging comments from others in our little blogging community. Keep riding that wave!
ReplyDeleteahhhhh...finally get the chance to look at the whole painting. It's lovely and I love it v much, Kylie.
ReplyDeletePersonally have no solid suggestion on how to stay on top of the creative wave. But to suggest keep on creating and painting/drawing when the hypes is up high. Cuz it comes and goes. Just remember to take it easy if the creative juices ever running low. I sometime look back at my creative challenge journey, and thought...Wow...the lowness do make wonders & create sparks into our creative journey!
Positive feedback is just the best thing!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you've used - it is a very soothing painting.xx
Oh that is lovely. I adore blues and this is stunning. I suggest lots of walking in nature to help bring forth ideas when stuck and to juts go with it when not stuck!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Kylie. You can really see in your work just how much you really are enjoying it at the moment :)
ReplyDeleteYour art never ceases to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteHi Kylie - first time visitor. I hear you re: having support and encouragement. I am studying with a wonderful bunch of women and can't imagine creating ithout them around me. The day will come - but for now, I will enjoy. Great that you have found that support here.
ReplyDeleteHi Kylie - First time visitor. I hear ya re: support and encouragement of others. I'm studying at the moment and can't imagine creating without this group of wonderful, inspiring women around me. The day will come, but for now I will enjoy. Great that you have found that in the blogging world.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful painting Kylie.
ReplyDeleteI think the wave is exactly that. A wave. It ebbs and flows and you just have to learn to roll with the tides. Enjoy it while it is, and for what it is. When you're not painting you're doing other important things. Dreaming, thinking, creating in other ways.
Funny thing, I finished my post today saying creativity abounds at Kootoyoo. We seem to be a little in sync my friend.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late, but here is my entry -

ReplyDeleteI know nothing about painting but I want to say that I love those flowy brushstrokes... if that makes any sense. xo m.
ReplyDeleteYou painting is gorgeous! I agree that the blogging world has so many people ready to offer encouragement and constructive criticism when you need it. It is wonderful to be a part of a community of crafters online.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting! The blogging community is so generous and kind & it helped me too to continue what I do. It is not always easy to battle the highs and lows of the creative waves but enjoy the ride while you're on it! ;)
