A funny little painting that started life as one thing and turned into another...The Animation!

I have been contemplating ways to try to share a little more of my process with you. I’ve been toying with the thought of videoing myself, but that seemed like a bit of an overwhelming learning curve!!

Then I discovered this nifty program on My Poppet, via Cam’s post the other day.

So I present to you, my very first animation.

You can see I started out with one idea, didn’t like how it was turning out and just let it evolve.

Painting, painting, painting….

I’ve been jumping and skipping, clapping and spinning!!! I’m just so happy with the painting that came to life in my studio this week. I am delighting in this creative, productive period and I love having the ability to share my work with you when it is fresh off the easel! I think this is one of the best paintings I have ever done – perhaps the best ever.

This painting is the star of the “Adrift” series (so far), I can’t wait to get on with the next one I have planned.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped me in the quest for a title for my last painting, after an overwhelming consensus I have named last weeks painting “Afloat”.

This new one still needs a title and Abound, Awash, Approach, Abroad and Around are currently on the table. Feel free to cast your vote for one of these or throw another option on the table. Edited to add this one is now titled "Abound".

I’m itching to go check out the abundance of creative goodness at Kirsty’s today. I hope to visit lots of you this afternoon.

Two perfect purple pressies….

Lucky, lucky me, look what the post man delivered today!

I bet you can already tell it’s going to be special because it has a Curly Pops tag….

I couldn’t get a photo of it, but inside that fabulous glasses case is the purple polka dot fabric from the lining of my custom made Curly Pops camera bag. Can I just take a moment to mention here that I haven’t used another bag since the day my camera case arrived! It goes with me everywhere and makes me so happy.

And this purple pretty is my third Curly Pops brooch, it’s already my favourite! I think it might have to live on my camera bag so it can go everywhere with me too.

Grasshoppers in the Garden on Shadow Shot Sunday

Not my garden, thank goodness! I snapped these little guys in a friend’s garden during the week.
