My shadow shot this week appeared during a painting session on Tuesday. I am so happy with the painting, I do hope you can spare a moment to pop over and see it.
Once again I must mention how grateful I am to Tracey for hosting Shadow Shot Sunday. It really has made me look more closely at every moment and take in beauty that I may have missed.
If you’re not already a shadow hunter, you really should pop over and play along, it lots of fun and a little bit addictive.

I love shadows cast by glass :-)
ReplyDeleteI love those delicate and subtle shadows in your shot...
ReplyDeleteShadows as art is something I had not considered prior to chasing shadows myself. The artist needs a canvas and of course a medium is required for the artist. Neat that the tools of the artists trade are shadowy art on their own...
ReplyDeleteI looked at your art - the gum tree is a wonderful subject. I am always intrigued how the artist has a vision that we don't have when preparing for the painting - and how nice it looks when finished. Nice work!
I like the contrast between the solid shadow of the paint and the ethereal shadow of the glass!
ReplyDeleteLove your painting Kylie! Love your shadows as well - shadow shot Sunday has opened our eyes to the world of shadows as well - so addicting!
ReplyDeleteSee you painting Kylie, amazing how you come up with that idea just stunning. Happy weekend!

Your painting is terrific, Kylie! And I love your shadow shot for the day! There's just something about glass that does make the most intriguing shadow shots! Have a great weekend!

It is so right what you write here - I also am aware in a special way when walking around with the camera thanks to all the memes.
ReplyDeleteLove your color in the shadow shot :)
Lovely shadow shot you have. It's amazing how shadows never leave us, even if sometimes you don pay any attention to them!

So exciting that flying lessons start today... your work is gorgeous and I really enjoyed having a read through your blog just now - officially your newest follower! Feels so good to be making such lovely new connections. Look forward to seeing you in class!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of shadow sunday. Its great to look at the world in different ways. I'm afraid there is no sun here today to make any shadows so I might have to wait til next week to play.
ReplyDeleteI love the painting too.
Great shot! I have always wanted to paint, perhaps that is something I can take up in my retirment :-P Hope you have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteA lovely shadow shot and I popped over to look at your painting, and Wow! It's beautiful Kylie. And I'm sure your tree buddy Ernest will live a long and happy life in the park. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Geez, it's almost over. How did that happen !?!
ReplyDeleteI too am an artist, mostly watercolors, but my art shows up in many forms these days...Ernest is a beautiful, special tree. I have one too, it's my catalpa tree, which is in full bloom right now. I call it my Starling tree, as many nestlings have flown from it's holes.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe weekend!
we do have the same thoughts on shadows this week...very nice. it is wonderful to stop and appreciate the simple things in life...like shadows...isn't it. have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThe painting was great. I love the reflection of the glass in this photo. Cheers!

ReplyDeleteHey Kylie - so great to 'meet' you! Always nice to hear an aussie voice in the mix!!! The class feedback is fabulous - but having a hard time trying to read everyones messages and make comments!!! Which is a good problem to have - a whole lot of like-minded souls is awesome. See you inclass !
