A lazy lightbox

Cathie was kind enough to give me some photography pointers and links to how to make your own lightbox tutorials the other day. Since then I have been itching to give it a go, but haven’t been able to find time to gather the supplies.

In the back of my head I knew that Vic had made her own lightbox a while ago and today I decided to search out her post and see if I had the requirements for it. I did and it took exactly the amount of effort I was able to muster today. First tip the contents out of a Styrofoam box, step 2, start taking pics! I added a very complicated step 2a and pinned some satin that I was wanting as a background into the box.

I was lucky enough to receive a big fancy flash for chrisy (thanks again Curly Guy xxx) so I was able to point that at the top of the box with it’s diffuser on and bounce the light off the ceiling of the box. When I am up to putting in more effort I will dig out a light and see if I can improve my results with it.

But today I have a headache and allergies so this is it! I really wanted to share a pic of my latest favorite copper piece featuring an etched disk in the background. I’m still rather chuffed at figuring this etching business out and when I am feeling better I shall begin etching everything that’s not tied down!

  1. Love the etching and the satin background is sooooo pretty.

I hear you on the allergy front, I have to take a zyrtec every morning otherwise I spend the entire day sneezing and rubbing my eyes red raw. I hope you feel better soon.

  2. Hi Kylie, your etched copper jewelery is just so original and so beautiful. I can't wait to see them in HH so I can get myself one.

Thanks for the info on light boxes.

    See ya
