A special batch……
All set for delivery to Handmade Heaven this morning is a special purple batch of playdough to celebrate the launch of Chasing Purple Dreams. I’ve purpled up the label and used a special star shaped glitter. Unfortunately I have less to deliver than I anticipated as some has been claimed by some of my favorite little people!

Chemicals and Fire
This week, My Creative Space, is all about chemicals and fire! Annealing, melting, etching, it’s all so much fun and I am thrilled with the skills I am learning and the pieces I am producing.
I am waiting on my first ever Etsy purchase to arrive, it includes copper chain and findings so I can finish off the pieces I have been making and list them in my fledgling Etsy store.
Check out other Creative Spaces over at Kootoyoo, I am so glad it is back I have missed sharing and peeking into other spaces over the break.

A cruisy morning, driving here and there.
These are my favorite pics from our Australia Day country drive. I particularly love the bees.
We finished the day with a barbeque, good company, swimming and mangoes. A perfect day Aussie day.

A lazy lightbox
Cathie was kind enough to give me some photography pointers and links to how to make your own lightbox tutorials the other day. Since then I have been itching to give it a go, but haven’t been able to find time to gather the supplies.
In the back of my head I knew that Vic had made her own lightbox a while ago and today I decided to search out her post and see if I had the requirements for it. I did and it took exactly the amount of effort I was able to muster today. First tip the contents out of a Styrofoam box, step 2, start taking pics! I added a very complicated step 2a and pinned some satin that I was wanting as a background into the box.
I was lucky enough to receive a big fancy flash for chrisy (thanks again Curly Guy xxx) so I was able to point that at the top of the box with it’s diffuser on and bounce the light off the ceiling of the box. When I am up to putting in more effort I will dig out a light and see if I can improve my results with it.
But today I have a headache and allergies so this is it! I really wanted to share a pic of my latest favorite copper piece featuring an etched disk in the background. I’m still rather chuffed at figuring this etching business out and when I am feeling better I shall begin etching everything that’s not tied down!

HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY……
That’s what Little Guy and I have been skipping around the house singing, as he helped me celebrate my latest experiments success!
So watch this space for a heap of etched copper in the next few weeks!!
p.s. don’t worry, I don’t have a broken heart, the talk of anti valentine on Etsy just got me thinking.

A fresh start…..
Hi, I’m Kylie and I have a really short attention span! (or perhaps I’m just easily inspired???)
I have just posted my last post on my first blog, it lasted 5 months. But I haven’t lost interest in blogging – far from it; I just needed a fresh start. I just launched my Etsy store and I decided that as I wasn’t thrilled with the name I chose for my first blog, now was the time to bite the bullet and change. So farewell "created by Kylie" it’s time to embrace "Chasing Purple Dreams".
I am a busy, busy, busy at the moment with a huge to do list of things I want to do to get both the Chasing Purple Dreams Etsy store to a place where I am happy.
I am holding dreams in my heart of this year being the year I can find some time to get back to my painting and I am discovering new techniques and filling my head with new jewellery designs all the time. I will be staring a short silversmith course soon and I hope to improve my photography skills and knowledge this year.
So although I may get obsessed with things from time to time, my short attention span will assure you of a multitude of different things to catch up on when you drop by! And who knows what I will be into next, I could be just hours away from a new obsession!! Making wooden toys? Sock monkeys? Marine biology? Don’t ask me I had no idea I would end up making jewellery, things just evolve, I never know when the next obsession will bite!
Thanks for dropping by, I do hope you will join my little band of followers and leave me a comment every now and then to keep me company on this dream chasing expedition.
